This technology is emerging primarily because of our underlying goal as humans for a more direct link between the brain and the external world. With the goal of medicine to help improve the quality of life,this new technology is the next step in healthcare. People who have suffered from a stroke or are paralysed, have had success with this new technology. Recent studies have shown many successful stories of quadriplegics using brain-computer interfaces to control a robotic arm with their brain waves and even drink coffee from a cup.
